About Jane O'Malley

Jane began practicing yoga as a teenager in the 1970’s, becoming a certified fitness instructor and triathlete, and completing her training as a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine in 2000.

She completed her first yoga teacher training at Heartwood Retreat Center in 2018, followed by 500-hour advanced yoga teacher training. Jane is certified in Yin, Restorative, Hatha, and Vinyasa yoga, as well as in Seniors and Chair yoga.

She studies with Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield, having completed a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction certification program, and is currently enrolled in a two-year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program. She has studied meditation in the Vipassana tradition and engaged in silent retreats and regular training. Jane believes that mindfulness practices are life-changing and a powerful way to find closeness to peace and to our true selves.

Jane works with clients who are transitioning into or in retirement, helping them to build consistent yoga and mindfulness practices and develop healthy lifestyle routines and habits to support this life transition. She helps clients build consistency of practice and integrate yoga and mindfulness into daily life. The goal is to build a strong body, a quieter mind, and lighter spirit, to have a better, healthier relationship with their body and mind, and prevent illnesses that are often associated with retirement and aging.

Jane’s coaching sessions are tailored to suit the needs of each unique client, guiding each to transform their lives into one that is aligned with a true purpose, a sense of joy, and an easy flow in body, breath, mind and spirit; all founded on the belief that the answer lies within each of us, ready to be found.

Her yoga mat is a place to find contentment, authenticity and unconditional love of self, others and the world. Sound healing is a particular passion which she shares in her gong/sound healing room with students in mindful meditation practice and where she finds personal joy.

Jane teaches karma yoga in support of local women’s shelters in Northern Ontario, where she lives with her husband and her dog, Stanley. She also loves travel, kayaking, fly fishing, knitting, cooking and fostering a growth mindset through lifelong learning.

She is retired with purpose.

Taking care of your mind, body, and spirit as you transition into and through retirement. It's about being more mindful about who and where you are at, making healthy choices, and being proactive in creating the life you want.
